I am an Applied Linguist specialising in educational science, research methodology, and user research. I recently completed my doctorate and I am now looking for research roles in Europe.
My Ph.D. thesis was a user research study of the Iranian university educational system. It investigated the current experience, needs, and difficulties of Ph.D. candidates and novice researchers when conducting mixed methods research, and made policy recommendations for improving their experience.
The study used a mixed methods design which combined both qualitative and quantitative analysis. It was carried out using techniques including semi-structured interviews, Grounded Theory coding, and questionnaire surveys.
A fun fact: I and my family are descendants of the great 14th century Iranian poet Hafez! I grew up just a short walk from his famous tomb in the beautiful city of Shiraz.
